About this piece
A rose caught just before it opens — the red petals are worked in a spiral and left furled, sitting inside a five-point green sepal that cups the base.
The closed bud is deliberate. An open crochet rose tends to look like a pom-pom; a bud keeps the shape a rose is supposed to have.
Wire-cored stem, so it bends and holds. Sold as a single stem — they look best bunched in odd numbers, or mixed in among the sunflowers.
